You’ve written your email, you’re ready to send it to your customers. You’ve checked the content, found good artwork and made sure that it is tailored to the needs of your customers.
Now, you must invest time in the email subject line. It’s impossible to put too much emphasis on doing this well. Quite simply, a compelling subject line determines whether your email gets opened or not.
Don’t just write whatever at the last minute. Take time and think of a few potential subject lines before choosing one. Ask friends or colleagues for their feedback. It makes little sense to spend time carefully crafting an email, only to sabotage it with a lackluster subject line. Craft something that will get the attention of your readers. Don’t just settle for the mundane “Newsletter” or “Weekly Update.” Try something like “Register today for an event that will change your life!”
